Vote in the 2024 Council elections
During autumn/winter 2023, the Society’s social media channels, e-newsletter and Geoscientist keenly encouraged Fellows to stand for Council to succeed the six Council members retiring at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 12 June 2024. Eight nominations were received for the six vacancies.
The preliminary ballot will run from 1 March to 31 March. The ballot results determine the list for the formal vote at the AGM. The process for the election of Council members is set out at section 6 of the Bye-laws.
Civica, an independent ballot service provider, will administer the Council ballot on behalf of the Society. Fellows will receive an email from Civica with instructions for how to vote online. If you do not receive an email, please check your spam emails. Fellows without a registered email address will receive a postal ballot pack.
If you do not receive your ballot by 8 March or have any issues with casting your vote, please visit the ballot provider’s direct link: www.cesvotes.com/geosoc24
If you continue to have further issues, please contact: secretary@geolsoc.org.uk
The closing date for voting, online or postal, is 23:59 on Sunday 31 March 2024. Postal ballot forms must be sent to Civica (not the Society) and must arrive on or prior to the deadline date.
We urge Fellows to exercise their vote and demonstrate their support for the candidates who will serve on Council to help shape our strategy to prepare for current and anticipated future needs. Please note, only Fellows of the Society are eligible to vote.
